Step into the heart of Mexico’s capital on a food tour through the Historic Center (Centro Histórico), where centuries of culture meet some of the world’s most beloved flavors. With 8+ tastings included, you’ll enjoy a full culinary journey through markets, hidden eateries, and local favorites that define Mexico City’s vibrant food scene. Your adventure begins the Mexican way, in a bustling open-air market, with a plate of chilaquiles, a dish that dates back to Aztec times and remains a beloved breakfast staple. From there, savor enchiladas covered in rich mole sauce, a recipe layered with centuries of history and dozens of ingredients. We’ll continue through the colorful streets and shopping arcades of the Historic Center, stopping to sample crispy homemade tortillas with fresh guacamole, prepared in the country where this iconic dip was born. No visit to Mexico City is complete without tacos, so we’ll sit down at a locals’ favorite taquería to enjoy authentic tacos with lime and salsas on the side. For a sweet pause, step into a traditional panadería (bakery) to taste a freshly baked Mexican pastry before finishing with a bite of artisanal Mexican chocolate, a nod to cocoa’s origins here in Mesoamerica. And, as always, your tour includes a delicious secret dish that will surprise and delight. Led by a passionate local guide, this food tour is more than just a meal, it’s a cultural experience that brings together history, flavors, and stories from Mexico’s Old Town.
