UFC Mexico City 2026

Getting to Mexico City

Everything you need to get from wherever you are to Arena Ciudad de México on March 1, 2026.

✈️ Flights to Mexico City

Benito Juárez International Airport (MEX)

Mexico City's main airport. Direct flights from most major US, Canadian, and European hubs. American Airlines, United, Delta, Air Canada, British Airways, Iberia, and Aeromexico all fly direct.

Felipe Ángeles International Airport (NLU)

The newer airport, 50km north of the city. Cheaper fares but a 60-90 minute transfer. Avoid unless you're getting a significantly cheaper fare — the transfer hassle on fight day isn't worth it.

Book tip: Fly in Feb 27-28, fly out March 2-3. Fight weekend prices surge — book early.

🚗 Airport → Hotel

Uber / CabifyRECOMMENDED

Safest and most convenient. Order from inside the airport arrival hall.

30–40 min
Metro Line 5 (Terminal Aérea station)

Take Line 5 → transfer at La Raza → Line 3 toward Universidad. Good if you pack light.

Authorized Airport Taxi

Buy a ticket at the official desk inside arrivals. More expensive than Uber but safe.

🥊 Hotel → Arena on Fight Night

Metro Line 9 → VelódromoBEST VALUE

The local way. From Roma Norte: take Line 1 → transfer at Pantitlán → Line 9 → Velódromo. 5-min walk to arena. Very crowded after the event — walk with a group.

~$0.25 USD
20–30 min
Uber (pre-event)

Book 30 min before you need to leave. Post-fight surge pricing kicks in fast — order immediately when the last fight ends or walk 2 blocks before requesting.

20–30 min
UFC Fan Shuttle (if available)

Check the official UFC app and local promoter announcements closer to fight week. Sometimes available from hotel zones.

🛡️ Safety + Transport Tips

  • Use Uber or Cabify — never hail cabs off the street. Rideshare is safer and cheaper.
  • Download the Uber app before you land and have a local SIM or eSIM ready.
  • Mexico City Metro is safe but very crowded at peak times — watch your belongings.
  • Keep your phone in your pocket when walking; only use it when stationary.
  • ATMs inside supermarkets (OXXO, Walmart) or banks are safer than standalone machines.
  • Drink bottled or filtered water only. Skip tap water and raw ice at street stalls.
  • Use the Waze or Google Maps navigation — Mexico City roads are complex.
  • Post-fight: order Uber immediately when the last fight ends. Surge pricing lasts 30-60 min.

🎒 Packing Tips

Layers
Mexico City is 2240m altitude — warm days, cool evenings (12-22°C in March).
Walking shoes
You'll log 15,000+ steps exploring Roma/Condesa. Comfort over style.
eSIM or local SIM
Telcel or AT&T México — get at the airport or a convenience store.
Pesos cash
Markets, street food, and tips. Have MXN$500 on you at all times.
Sunscreen
High altitude = stronger UV. March sun is deceptive.
Power bank
Full day out before a long fight night. Mexican outlets are Type A/B (same as US).
