Getting to Mexico City
Everything you need to get from wherever you are to Arena Ciudad de MΓ©xico for UFC Mexico City 2026.
βοΈ Flights to Mexico City
Benito JuΓ‘rez International Airport (MEX)
RECOMMENDEDMexico City's main airport. Direct flights from most major US, Canadian, and European hubs. American Airlines, United, Delta, Air Canada, British Airways, Iberia, and Aeromexico all fly direct.
Felipe Γngeles International Airport (NLU)
The newer airport, 50km north of the city. Cheaper fares but a 60-90 minute transfer. Avoid unless you're getting a significantly cheaper fare β the transfer hassle on fight day isn't worth it.
Book tip: Fly in Feb 27-28, fly out March 2-3. Fight weekend prices surge β book early.
π Airport β Hotel
Safest and most convenient. Order from inside the airport arrival hall.
Take Line 5 β transfer at La Raza β Line 3 toward Universidad. Good if you pack light.
Buy a ticket at the official desk inside arrivals. More expensive than Uber but safe.
π₯ Hotel β Arena Ciudad de MΓ©xico
The local way. From Roma Norte: take Line 1 β transfer at PantitlΓ‘n β Line 9 β VelΓ³dromo. 5-min walk to arena. Very crowded after the event β walk with a group.
Book 30 min before you need to leave. Post-fight surge pricing kicks in fast β order immediately when the last fight ends or walk 2 blocks before requesting.
Check the official UFC app and local promoter announcements closer to fight week. Sometimes available from hotel zones.
π Visa Requirements
FMM Tourist Card: Issued automatically on arrival or during your flight (paper form). Allows up to 180 days in Mexico. Keep it β you'll need it when you leave. Always check your government's travel advisory before departing.
π‘οΈ Safety + Transport Tips
- βUse Uber or Cabify β never hail cabs off the street. Rideshare is safer and cheaper.
- βDownload the Uber app before you land and have a local SIM or eSIM ready.
- βMexico City Metro is safe but very crowded at peak times β watch your belongings.
- βKeep your phone in your pocket when walking; only use it when stationary.
- βATMs inside supermarkets (OXXO, Walmart) or banks are safer than standalone machines.
- βDrink bottled or filtered water only. Skip tap water and raw ice at street stalls.
- βUse the Waze or Google Maps navigation β Mexico City roads are complex.
- βPost-fight: order Uber immediately when the last fight ends. Surge pricing lasts 30-60 min.
