βοΈ Flights to Las Vegas
Harry Reid International Airport (LAS)
RECOMMENDEDThe main Las Vegas airport, 8 km (5 miles) from the Strip. Uber/Lyft to Strip hotels costs $15-25 and takes 15-20 minutes. Served by all major US carriers plus international flights from Canada, Mexico, UK, and Europe.
Henderson Executive Airport (HST)
Small general aviation airport in Henderson. Not served by commercial airlines. Only relevant if arriving by private charter.
Book tip: Fly in March 5-6, fly out March 8-9. Fight weekend hotel prices surge 2-3x β book 2+ months early.
π Airport β Hotel
Best option. Order from the designated rideshare area on Level 1 of the terminal. No surge pricing during normal arrival times.
Official taxis at the taxi stand outside arrivals. Slightly more expensive than Uber but reliable. No need to pre-book.
Many major Strip hotels offer free or cheap shuttles from LAS. Check with your hotel. Can be slow if they serve multiple hotels.
π₯ Hotel β Meta APEX
If staying at Park MGM, New York-New York, or MGM Grand β just walk. T-Mobile Arena is directly accessible from the Park/MGM complex without stepping outside.
For off-Strip hotels. Book 20 min before you need to leave. Post-fight surge pricing is significant on the Strip β walk a block or two before requesting, or wait 30 min.
Connects several Strip hotels. Nearest station to T-Mobile Arena is at Park MGM. Good option to avoid post-fight Uber surge.
π Visa Requirements
ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization): Apply at esta.cbp.dhs.gov before travel. Costs $21, valid for 2 years. Required for all Visa Waiver Program countries. Canadian citizens need neither ESTA nor a visa. Apply at least 72 hours before departure. Always check travel.state.gov for your country's requirements.
π‘οΈ Safety + Transport Tips
- βThe Strip is very safe β always lit, patrolled, and full of people. Standard city precautions apply.
- βUse Uber or Lyft β Las Vegas taxis from unofficial sources can overcharge. Use official cabs from taxi stands.
- βDrink plenty of water. Desert heat + alcohol + long nights = dehydration. Vegas is at altitude too.
- βKeep your wallet and phone secure in casino crowds β pickpockets target distracted gamblers.
- βCasinos have ATMs but charge heavy fees. Use your bank card at a real bank or ask your hotel.
- βPost-fight Uber surge pricing can be extreme. Walk a few blocks from the venue before requesting.
- βSet a gambling budget before you start and stick to it. Casinos are designed to keep you playing.
- βFree drinks on the casino floor are comped to players β tip your server $1-2 per drink.
